We made a sudden trip to AZ this past week to attend the funeral for Joe's granny. She was a very special and amazing woman. Getting the chance give her one final tribute was the least we could want to do in honor of her.
We had a great time planning out our trip with Joe's brothers and their families. We managed to caravan with Tim and Nellie to go and visit the London Bridge in Lake Havasu, AZ. It was such a fun place to stop and visit.
Getting to Mesa was nice. We got to stay in a nic
e hotel. It was the first time us staying in a hotel on our own. Our family was the perfect size for the room. One big king bed for us and a sofa bed for Ellen. We were happy to sleep in such nice beds since we were away from home.
The funeral was nice to hear fun stories about Granny. And the most exciting part was Joe's siblings all being together for the first time in like 10 years. It was fun to watch them reminisce together about their growing up years.
We broke up the trip to Mesa by stopping in Richfield, then to Vegas, then to Mesa. The way home was one big long drive. Joe was awesome. We had a really good time sitting together in the car for 9 hours and Ellen was a good little passenger! I'm looking forward to future family trips as nice and rewarding as this one!
