In response...

....to Joe's blog.

Becoming Jane really wasn't that great of a movie. But distaste for this 'kind' of movie in my opinion is simply overlooking the social situation of that time. The society of the 1800s seems unbelievable with the lifestyles we live now( but that also depends if you're one of the rich when then I'm sure it is very similar.) And the reason we like Jane Austen stories is because her characters face terrible futures, then they get worse, and then things turn out so much more to their advantage.

It's not an overlooking of the time period that causes the distaste, it's the ridiculous social rules of the time period that I despise.

Well, we all have rules that seem dumb at the time but they help us as a people. I love all the social rules of those times because they were silly. But how are we know without those rules? CRaZY. LOVE MAMA

I didn't think it was the great of a movie either. I was very excited for it, then it kind of let me down.

It was like a little blog chase. I had to go to joe's to understand yours and then back again. It was funny to hear both sides!
