Once Angie asked me a question. 'Joe if you had to give up video games or movies, which one would you ditch? Forever.' That's paraphrased, but that was a difficult question for me. This was like picking between a son or a daughter. I love them both, but one has got to go. I gave her an answer after much deliberation. Now, here's the thing.
I've played tons of games. Almost every Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Warcraft game that has ever been available just to name my favorites. In fact every year I pick one of the above franchises and replay every one I can. This year is Metroid. Last Year was Mario and Donkey Kong. The year before was Zelda. All this on top of the new games that keep coming out. I love Guitar Hero and I can't wait for The Force Unleashed. Giving that up would be asking almost too much.
On the other hand, could I give up never being able to watch another Batman or Ironman movie? What about when the Avengers or The Hobbit comes out? Even giving up on rewatching classics like UHF or Star Wars. I've enjoyed hours of movies, and I think that if it came down to it, I may have spent equal hours playing video games and watching movies. Then again, I did create a movie blog to write about movies. I have been to the theater about 10 times since Ironman came out in May, and I have 3 more movies to watch before the summer ends.
I'm curious as to what everyone thinks I picked, but even more interesting, what would you pick? Obviously not everyone has these two hobbies. Perhaps yours would be reading books for fun, watching movies, acting, running, cooking, or kayaking. Pick two hobbies, you can't live without and choose. Let me know what you think. If you have a really hard choice and you make a decision, you'll get some points,. If you guess correctly what I picked I'll give you 35 points, and 50 points wins!

Joe, you wouldn't be able to give up movies.
My two biggest hobbies are music and video games...That's easy. I would give up video games.
Ned
way to be Ned! that's how you make a decision!!
Joe, to I get to play?
go for it
I think you picked video games because although I have personally stayed up until the insane hours of the morning playing video games with you, I distinctly remember a week when we watched two - that's right two - movies a day for an entire week.
i agree. you couldn't live without the movies.
If i had to choose between reading books or playing the piano...I would have to choose playing the piano! (wow, that was kinda hard)
You couldn't give up movies. You guys quote lines all the time. Though how you could give up video games is beyond my understanding Mom
I'm with you Angie. It is really hard. I, honestly, couldn't make a decision. That's why Ned is the only one to comment up there. I'm sure glad we don't have to choose, because I don't know what I would do.
Hi Joe and Angie! I love you guys ; )! I still think about that fun Halloween party we had two years ago. The stomboli was so good ; ). To add to the discussion, I would give up movies if I had to choose. Video games are just so much more interactive. Although I would definitely miss Mystery Science Theater 3000! Mad-Cap in Richfield was selling all of their old VHS tapes and Karl and I were able to nab 6 of those fun-filled adventures for $2.00 a piece ; ). I hope you guys aren't jealous! I also hope that you both are doing well! We need to come visit you guys - you live so close and we never see you : (. Angie I will let you know what I think of Breaking Dawn! I have it, but sadly have not perused it yet ; ). Every time I visit your blog I am sorely tempted to look at the comments about the book! So I need to finish it before I break down and look at them, thus ruining my own Breaking Dawn experience ; ).Talk to you soon!
joe, was everyone right? (i never guessed because i'm a weenie and can't make any decisions). :)
