Borborygmus is the rumbling sound produced by the movement of gas throught the intestines of animals. The word borborygmus is an actual onomatopeia for this rumbling.

Onomatopoeia is a figure of speech that employs a word, or occasionally, a grouping of words, that imitates the sound it is describing, and thus suggests its source object, such as a "bang" or "click", or animal such as "moo", "quack" or "meow"
Which reminded me of a joke I made up in the MTC (an acronym for missionary training center). I learned that dogs say "how" in Poland, and that the ducks say "kwa" (the w is a v sound). Kto translates into the English word who. Then my mind made a connection and I asked the teacher, "Does that mean that owls in Poland say kto?" I laughed and so did many of the missionaries in the class with me. If you don't get it, don't try, because if you ask those who read this and do get it, they're going to tell you it's not worth getting. What can I say, I'm starving and I'm in the middle of my 4th hour of anatomy class today, and I have to go and take a test right now. These are some connections my brain made. Have some.
Oh and that joke is really funny if you know what alimentary means.
